WELCOME
to the very first blog post of Soul Not For Sale.
Disclaimer: I am the definition of no idea what I am doing, but leaning into God & figuring out the rest as I go.
Only two years ago I would have never anticipated that this is what life would look like for me. Two years ago, I was a shell of a human, broken, helpless, lost. I will leave my testimony for another post because that it in itself is wild!
In the midst of a four month intense lockdown (Auckland, New Zealand was up there with some of the strictest lockdown measures in the world) in late 2021, was when Soul Not For Sale became a thought.
I had just had a personal encounter with Jesus and was pursuing my relationship with him whilst watching the chaos in the world unfold before my eyes. I really grappled with the division I was seeing and feeling. It seemed that we as humanity were more divided than ever, in our friendships, relationships and families.
When reading Mark and how Jesus is talking to the disciples about his pending arrest and death I was profoundly impacted.
“For what does it profit a man to gain the whole world & lose his own soul” Mark 8:36
And that is just it. The world will never be able to offer me what Jesus already did on the Cross. Your soul is valuable, important and belongs to Jesus.
The enemy has no place in having my soul, I won’t let it happen. The enemy tried to destroy me two years ago, but instead I leant into God and into his purpose for my life.
We have one opportunity on earth, a blip in time when you think about the generations who came before us.
What is your purpose? What is your soul worth? Why are you here?
Fast forward to May 2022: the term SOUL NOT FOR SALE was tattooed on my leg
I wanted to do something that would start conversation about Jesus with others.
In Matthew 28:19-20, Jesus is talking to his disciples and says “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.””
This challenged me big time and still does. We have an opportunity to share the good news of Jesus and how he came to save us but sometimes we shy away from this. I get it!!! It can be so difficult.
I thought it would be awesome to share the message of Jesus through clothing. A creative way to make an impact in someone’s life, to start conversation and for people to be proud of their faith in Jesus.
So, SOUL NOT FOR SALE was it - it is bold, it is a declaration that Jesus has my soul, it is not available for the enemy to seek and have & I am firm on that.
I started playing around with different ideas, mid 2022. However I was working a full time job and found myself with little time to really work on the idea. Prior to Christmas I had some samples done & well let’s just say they were shocking!!
Then in January of this year I broke my hand! So I couldn’t work my day job at all, which has turned out to be the biggest blessing as I have put in time and effort into starting Soul Not For Sale.
Back to the drawing board I went. I have refined and refined how I wanted the logo to look and even had a close family friend help perfect the logo I had in mind. I was so stoked when she sent me the final edit!
From there, I started contacting printing companies and have found the company I am now working with and they have been just amazing. Bit by bit and day by day I have learnt, prayed and worked on this.
Then I placed an order, tshirts arrived, planned a photoshoot, built a website with no prior knowledge and started to build the social media for SNFS.
And here we are now, officially launching, which is just incredible. God is doing incredible things within Soul Not For Sale (and I will talk more about those in another post)!
Thankyou for being here on this journey
I look forward to seeing you in SNFS merch
My prayer is that you will be empowered by this clothing, that Jesus works through you when you wear SNFS merch and that someone may come to know Jesus because of you
See you back here soon
Blessing always
